In the session of spring of 2024, North South University’s architecture department conducted a three-day final-year thesis jury for its students. The jury started Thursday in Dhaka at the department’s Sky Gallery.
On the first day of the event, several esteemed architects and academicians served as jurors, including Ar. Shafique Rahman, the principal architect at Trikon Architects, Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology architecture department head SM Najmul Imam, Architect Rafiq Azam; Institute of Architects Bangladesh Centre secretary Nazmul Haq Bulbul, Architect Md Shafique Rahman; Architect Golam Mohammad Mohiuddin, Md Maruf Hossain Khan, vice-president of the IAB Khan Mohammad Mahfuzul Huq and the IAB heritage and culture secretary Architect Ziaul Sharif. Among the faculty members of the department, the event was attended by the NSU dean of the school of engineering and Physical Sciences, Shazzad Hosain, and the chairperson of the architecture department, Nandini Awal.
The jurors and audience praised the students’ experimental work this year, which included AI and simulation-based design processes. This raised the bar for the design results.
