Shafique Rahman is the founder and principal architect of Trikon Architects. During 17 years of his affiliation with Architecture as a student, researcher, educator, and practitioner, Shafique Rahman has designed and been involved in a number of projects in Bangladesh and Australia. He completed his Master of Design (M. Des. Sc) in Sustainable Design from the University of Sydney, Australia, in 2015, and completed Bachelor of Architecture (B. Arch) from Khulna University, Bangladesh, in 2012. During his professional years, Australia, where he worked alongside numerous international professionals while taking up opportunities to work on a number of Housing Projects, Refurbishment, and landscape design in Sydney, Australia.

After his return, he founded Trikon Architects, an environment-responsive architecture studio in 2015. He ledthe studio and a team of architects and engineers towards more than 50 projects in the last decade and was acknowledged for many insightful works in the context of Bangladesh.

Shafique Rahman is a Registered professional of Rajdhani Unnanyan Kartripakkha (RAJUK) and a Member of the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB). He is a former Member of “SONA” Students Organized Network for Architecture, Australian Institute of Architects (AIA). He served as a nominated member of the Public Health Group in the Union of International Architects

from 2021 to 2023. He served the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB) as a Member Secretary of the Environment and Urbanization Subcommittee in the 24thExecutive Councill.

Amongst his many noteworthy achievements in the field, Ar. Shafique Rahman was awarded 2nd position in the International Design Competition of the Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA) in 2020. His design work has been nominated for Exhibition and Presentation at the 27th World Congress of Architects – UIA RIO,Brazil (2021). There is acceptance of the 1st Position in The National Competition Organized by Lantas Lands, Bangladesh (2017), “Academic Design Award” (2009), shortlisted in “The Dwelling Unit 2062” and special mention in “IATA 2013”.

Apart from practice, Architect Shafique Rahman also contributed to academia as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Architecture of AUST, from 2016 to 2021. He has published research works on Environmental Sustainability in Architecture, Building Materials, Urban Regeneration, and Shape Grammar in Architecture. He has presented research and design works at many international conferences like ICMA, Malaysia 2019, International Urban Design Conference, China, 2019, ArcAsia Dhaka 2019, Graduate Students Work Exhibition at UniSydney, Australia 2014, and many more on national platforms.
